Ignore the fact that this hotel has the word “dessert” in its name, we have no idea why that is! This hotel is superbly located in the old town center and provides a great base to explore both the town and the region. The rooms are well equipped and the staff members are very attentive.
The Imola Udvarhaz Hotel is right at the gates of Eger castle and on one of the main tourist streets in the center. You can walk to all parts of the town center easily from here. The restaurant is very highly rated and there are outdoor terraces to sit on for some sun and people watching.
Egri Korona Winehouse
If you choose to stay on a vineyard, out of town among the vines, this is the place. There are 24 rooms at the Egri Korona Winehouse, divided between the main hotel building and the chalets. Enjoy a tour of the production areas and cellars, plus a tasting of course. You can walk the vines and also enjoy the non-wine activities on offer. Visiting the town of Eger and the Valley of the Beautiful Women is an easy and short journey from this location.
Senator House Hotel
This Senator House Hotel could not have a more central location in the town of Eger. As you can see in the photo above the hotel is virtually on the main town square, surrounded by pedestrian streets, filled with cafes and restaurants. In good weather, the terraces will be filled with people enjoying regional food and wine.
Walking the old town and visiting the castle are a real treat and a short taxi ride, or a 30-minute walk away, is the Valley of the Beautiful Women where the are dozens of wine cellars and wine-themed restaurants clustered together.
